Meet Improvaganza Improv Troupes

MEET IMPROVAGANZA – IMPROV FESTIVAL TROUPES via Show Line-Up:

HCC's Arts Collective & W.I.G. is honored to feature the following 12 outstanding improv troupes from the Baltimore/DC/VA Metro Area in our FIRST Improv Festival (Howard County's first, too)!... complete with Master Classes this March 30, 31 and April 1, 2017 in HCC's Studio Theatre. THURSDAY, MARCH 30 at 8:00 p.m.:

Fractal:
A long form improv team taking part in the Conservatory program at the Baltimore Improv Group, which performs in Baltimore every other Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Featuring: Spencer Clites, Ryan Frommelt, Clara Jegede, David Lee, Nadja Martens, Jennifer McCord, Brian Shea, Rob Wongus

Waiting for Steinberg:
Striking a delicate balance between endearing goofiness and scholarly respectability, this short form troupe specializes in upgraded and embellished versions of classic improv games.
Featuring: Keith Becraft, Michael Furr, Rebecca Gerber, Robin Jones, Adam Long, Joel Stob

Dad Joke:
Two dudes relay the experience of having families (or not) and children (or not) and how it has changed their life (or not). This long form improv duo performs in the MD/DC Metro area.
Featuring: Mikael Johnson, Marc Reber

Plan B:
"Plan B" is one of the founding troupes of the Baltimore Improv Group! Through short form improv, they promise to make audiences laugh until someone makes an uncomfortable sound!

What Improv Group?! (W.I.G.):
Seriously funny business, no one does improv quite like W.I.G., delivering grounded, boundary-breaking storytelling since 2009. Their take on improv pulls from Viewpoints, long and short form improv, and that quintessential W.I.G.ness that defies explanation.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31 at 8:00 p.m.:

The Comedy Pigs:
A short form improv troupe that performs at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre in Frederick Maryland. The Comedy Pigs are celebrating their 23rd season.
Featuring; Sonny Etzler, Cal Holderbaum, Anne Raugh, Thomas Scholtes, Laura Stark, Matt Vance

Trampus:
A Baltimore-based troupe, which performs long form improvisation with an emphasis on authentic story telling.
Featuring: Tavish Forsyth, Jason Garber, Julia Hall, Kathleen Williams, Justin Yaquiant

Door #3:
A musical improv troupe from Washington DC. They entertain audiences by creating made-up musicals right before their own eyes.
Featuring: Katie Dunn, Tony Lopez, Beth Lyons, John Manning, Erin Smith, David Steib, Paul  Rosenberg, Zach Walls

SATURDAY, APRIL 1 at 8:00 p.m.:

Charmsical:
This troupe provides musical madness by performing improvised musicals you have never seen before, or will again. Charm City's most delicious blend of music and improv, founded in 2013.
Featuring: Douglas Beatty, April Foiles, Dorian Gray, Julia Hall, Anne Neal, John Shockley

The Middle West:
An innovative long form indie improv troupe based in Baltimore. This troupe seeks to find the beauty and truth in the unknown, to reveal the comedy in the complexities of the real and utterly absurd.
Featuring: Justin Eifert, Tavish Forsyth, Jennifer McCord, Jess Miciak, Maya Siegel, Talya Tavor

The Penthouse Basements:
Short Form improv for the masses. This troupe performs all around the DC Metro area, and occasionally releases podcasts, all with the purpose of tickling your funny bone. 
Featuring: Dave Johnson, Rachel Kaplan, Ollie Lewis, Zazi Morgan, Peter Pinocci, Nick Webster

Silversmith: 
An improv troupe which combines an old world charm with the sharp flavor of intellectualism and the harsh sting of truth. Expect a performance that maintains tradition while veering swiftly (and often) into modern territory.
Featuring: Chelsea Gray, Cole Grinnell, Jordan Levine, Joanna Plasencia, Ian Salyers, Alexa Sciuto, Brian Young
