2012-2013 Howard Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships

The Howard Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. (HCCEF) maintains endowments and scholarships established through generous contributions from businesses, foundations, civic organizations, and individuals.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. HCC HCC has a new online 2012 - 2013 scholarship application! Students must submit the online application to be considered for a 2012-2013 HCCEF scholarship.  Students will be required to set up a scholarship application account ("Start Here" on website).
The application requires a 500 word essay defining: career and educational goals, the benefits of a college education, and how the student meets the criteria established by the donor.

2. Some scholarships are considered need-based and students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who are applying for financial aid, including scholarships, are encouraged to complete the Financial Aid "2012 - 2013 Application Process" in order to maximize their financial aid resources. The March 1, 2012 priority filing date is for students to be considered for certain Maryland state and institutional assistance.

3. Priority is given to students enrolling for the fall 2012 semester who complete the application process by the June 1 priority filing date each year. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis after the priority filing date until all funds have been awarded for the academic year. The status of the scholarships will be updated regularly on the chart below.

4. Students who earned less than 12 college credits are required to submit an unofficial high school transcript. Students who earned college credit from another institution and earned less than 12 credits at HCC are required to submit an unofficial transcript(s) from previous colleges. Copies of required transcripts must be submitted to Financial Aid Services. Current students who have earned more than 12 credits at HCC are not required to submit an HCC transcript.

Please note: A full-time student schedule for either the fall or spring semesters generally consists of 12 to 18 credit hours. Only students who are enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours will be considered. Awards are granted for the fall and spring semesters.
