2008-2009 HCC Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships

Howard Community College's Educational Foundation maintains endowment and scholarship programs established through generous contributions from private businesses, foundations, civic organizations, and individuals.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Students who are applying for financial aid, including scholarships, are encouraged to complete the Financial Aid "2008-2009 Application Process" by the March 1, 2008 priority filing date in order to maximize their financial aid resources.
Please note: some scholarships are considered need-based (as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and require that the student complete the FAFSA.
  2. Students must submit the online 2008-2009 scholarship application to be considered for a 2008-2009 HCC Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarship.
The application requires a 500 word essay defining: career goals, educational goals, the benefits of a college education and how the student meets the criteria established by the donor.
  3. Priority is given to students who complete the application process by the March 1 priority filing date each year. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis until all funds have been allocated for the academic year. The status of the scholarships will be updated regularly.
  4. Students who earned less than 12 college credits are required to submit an unofficial high school transcript. Students who earned college credit from another institution and earned less than 12 credits at HCC are required to submit and unofficial transcript(s) from previous colleges. Copies of required transcripts must be submitted to Financial Aid Services. Current students who have earned more than 12 credits at HCC are not required to submit an HCC transcript.

Please note: A full-time student schedule for either the fall or spring semesters generally consists of 12 to 18 credit hours. Students registered for less than 12 credit hours are classified as part-time. Awards are granted for the fall and spring semesters.
