Howard Community College's Pay for College calculator will help you estimate your college costs for one semester. This is an estimate and should not be confused with your actual tuition bill.  Tuition and fees used in the calculator are based on the current academic year. Descriptions of each highlighted field can be found by rolling the pointer over the field name.

The calculator is divided into three segments. The first segment estimates the cost to attend based on:

1. Official residency
2. Number of credits
3. Consolidated fee
4. Course related fees - Please check the schedule of classes for course related fees. They will be listed in the course description

The second segment allows you to deduct any financial aid award, or scholarships you may receive. This field is entered by the student and can include:

1. Your total financial aid package, based on the award letter
2. External scholarships that you receive from organizations outside of HCC
3. Savings/investments you receive from family members or friends

The third segment allows you to account for other expenses that make up the true cost to attend college. These expenses include:

1. Living expenses: room and board
2. Book expenses
3. Cost of transportation
4. Childcare expenses, if applicable
