All Stafford loan borrowers are required to complete the financial aid application process on the "How to Apply" page prior to requesting a federal Stafford loan.  This includes completing the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

• Student who do not have a completed financial aid file will not be able to apply for a federal Stafford loan until all required documents have been submitted and reviewed by Financial Aid Services.
• • All documents will be reviewed by a counselor within 20 business days from the date the last document is received. During peak processing periods this may be subject to change.
  • To avoid delays in the processing of your student loan, we recommend that you submit the required documents no less than 25 business days prior to initiating this process.

Note: You must be actively enrolled and attending a minimum of 6 credits to apply for a loan. 
All loan borrowers are required to officially register for classes each semester by the census date (see HCC schedule of class for specific date).
