Current and Graduating High School Students

Howard Community College will be conducting scheduled critical technology upgrades from December 28 to December 30. While the HCC website will be functional many other online services will be unavailable. Interruptions will include HCC's online application.

During this time period applicants can print a PDF version of our standard application and submit the completed form by mail or wait to complete the online application after the interruption period. 

Current high school students wishing to apply to the Silas Craft Collegians Program orScholars Programs can find instructions for applying during this outage by selecting the appropriate program below. All others can complete the standard application.

  • Freshman Focus Program: HCC's open entry program for graduating high school seniors. Students participating in the Freshman Focus Program receive early testing, advising, and registration dates that help them finish the enrollment process before they graduate from high school. The application for Freshman Focus is currently available for students graduating from high school in the spring of 2015. After you create your account, you may click “Apply Online”, select “Start a New Admissions Application” and answer “yes” to the question about the Freshman Focus program.

  • Scholars Programs: The James W. Rouse Scholars and STEM Scholars  are selective programs designed to challenge students with rigorous course work while at the same time offering a supportive environment with mentoring, professional development and service learning. The Scholars Application is currently available for students graduating from high school in the spring of 2015. Click the link below to start your Scholars Application.

  • Silas Craft Collegians Program: A program designed to put all of the HCC support services offers at students’ fingertips. This program is selective and is looking for highly motivated students whose past academic history does not reflect their full potential.The online application is currently available for students graduating from high school in the spring of 2015. Click the link below to start your application. After you create your account, you may click “Apply Online”, select “Start a New Admissions Application” and answer “yes” to the question about the Silas Craft program.

  • Early Entrance Program (Dual & Concurrent Enrollment): For high school students who want to enroll in HCC courses while they are still in high school.  Early Entrance applicants should apply by clicking the link below. After you create your account, you may click “Apply Online”, select “Start a New Admissions Application" and answer "yes" to the question about taking courses in high school.  The Early Entrance Signature Form must also be submitted to complete the admissions process.
