STEM Start ProgramSTEM Start (formerly Engineering Pathways Program) is an exciting program for high school students, who are in the summer before their senior year, interested in majoring in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). The program is designed to enable you to turn your interests and ideas about your future into reality. The program is open to any qualified students with a special emphasis on students from backgrounds underrepresented in the fields of math and engineering.
It is important to have strong skills in many academic areas to succeed in STEM majors and careers. It is also especially important to have a broad understanding about the field along with hands on experience, and strong math skills. All of these skills will be covered in a summer First Year Experience (FYEX) course. HCC’s STEM Start will prepare you for college level work and allow you the opportunity to pursue college coursework during your senior year at HCC.
