Pearson Vue Testing
The Test Center offers industry based information technology exams via Pearson VUE. The Test Center does not make appointments for IT based exams. These appointments are scheduled directly by contacting the appropriate vendor. Pearson VUE services Cisco Systems, Novell, and Citrix. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
MOS (also know as MCAS which stands for Microsoft Certified Application Specialist) exams use “live” or real applications to provide the most authentic evaluation of your knowledge, skills, and abilities. MOS performance-based testing uses specialized examination software while simultaneously running the actual Office programs. Microsoft Office Specialist is the official Microsoft Office certification for desktop productivity. Certification is available in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, and Project. The fee for MOS exams is $95.00 for Windows 2007 exams. The fees are payable at the Cashier’s office. MOS fees may not be paid via Certiport’s website. Fees for MOS cannot be collected by Test Center Staff. An official voucher is provided by the Howard Community College’s Cashier’s office on the second floor of the RCF building, and must be presented at the time of MOS administration. The exams are generally offered year-round, except during final exam weeks and peak periods of placement testing.
