The Test Center offers all industry based information technology exams. Depending on the type of certification that you desire to acquire you may contact Thomson Prometric or Pearson VUE. The Test Center does not make appointments for IT based exams. These appointments are scheduled directly by contacting the appropriate vendor. Thomson Prometric services client exams such as Oracle, Microsoft, Citrix, and IBM, while Pearson VUE services Cisco Systems, Novell, and Citrix. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
MOS uses “live” or real applications to provide the most authentic evaluation of your knowledge, skills, and abilities. MOS performance-based testing uses specialized examination software while simultaneously running the actual Office programs. Microsoft Office Specialist is the official Microsoft Office certification for desktop productivity. Certification is available in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, and Project. The fee for MOS exams is $85.00 per exam, and is payable at the Cashier’s office counter. MOS fees may not be paid via Certiport’s website. Fees for MOS cannot be collected by Test Center Staff. An official voucher is provided by the Howard Community College’s Cashier’s office in RCF and must be presented at the time of MOS administration. The exams are generally offered year-round, except during final exam weeks and peak periods of placement testing.
