Students transferring to most computer science programs must complete a science sequence. Recommended sequences are:

BIOL-101 and BIOL-102 (except for UMBC)
CHEM-101 and CHEM-102
PHYS-110 and PHYS-111 (calculus based is the preferred sequence for this program at most institutions)
Many programs will require that students complete a total of 12 credits of laboratory science courses
In many cases students must complete both computer science courses at the same institution (CMSY-141 and CMSY-181 or their equivalents) (Exemption UMCP)
