SCHEDULE
The tour will start in Istanbul, with students having the opportunity to experience a cosmopolitan city rich in history. Here participants will visit some of the oldest mosques in the world, including the breathtaking Blue Mosque. Also on the itinerary is a visit to Topkapi Palace, home to the Ottoman sultans for more than 400 years, and a highlight of last year’s itinerary. And no trip to Istanbul would be complete without a visit to its Grand Bazaar, Turkey’s largest covered market.
After the Istanbul segment, the group will head to Turkey’s capital, Ankara, and then south to Cappadocia, an amazing natural landscape of rock formations and cavelike ancient homes. The tour will end at the beach, next to the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
Along the way, students will be able to visit Turkish colleges and even get to sit in on classes and participate. Last year, the students formed bonds with Turkish students and faculty alike, exchanging phone numbers and making friends for a lifetime.
