The Multimedia Designer Program
The Multimedia Designer Program at Odense Technical College is an international program taught in English.  Program students study in the beautiful city center of Odense and live in the college’s student housing.  This semester abroad is designed for HCC information technology majors who will have completed most or all of the following courses before departure:

Odense Technical College and Tietgen Business College
Odense Technical College and Tietgen Business College are located in the city of Odense in Funen—the heartland of central Denmark and the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, Denmark’s most renowned author.  Odense is famous throughout the nation.  Odense and Tietgen offer a comprehensive array of educational programs, including computer studies, business, and marketing.  The two colleges share the popular Multimedia Designer Program.

At Odense and Tietgen, as is common throughout the business and technical college system, teamwork is emphasized, and a problem-oriented approach is widely used, e.g., in casework where real-life problems are solved and peer learning is stimulated.  Participants are offered opportunities to draw on their own experience and are encouraged to contribute actively to the learning process for themselves.

CREDITS
HCC students participate in the second semester of the Multimedia Designer Program and will have coursework in designing for the Internet and other interactive environments, digital video, multimedia production, and learn about the impact of technology on society and communications.  HCC students who successfully complete the semester will be able to apply for 12–15 articulated credits in these areas upon their return.

DETAILS
All tuition is waived at both Howard Community College and Odense.  A $1,000 scholarship is provided to qualified participants. The remaining cost for HCC students is approximately $4,000.  These estimated costs are the responsibility of the HCC student and include the following:

  • housing accommodations ($400–$500/month),
