Online Course Information

What is an online course?

In an online course, course instruction, learning activities, and interactions between faculty and students take place online on a course Web site.

Some online courses have required on-campus orientation sessions and a few online courses meet from one to four times per semester for up to 12 hours total for review sessions or other class activities. Additionally, many online courses require students to come to the HCC Test Center, or another approved test center, for proctored exams.  Check the Course Descriptions posted here for more information about "face-to-face" meetings your online course may require.

What are "TeleWebs"?

TeleWebs are online courses that incorporate telecourse videos and print materials as part of the course activities. While course activities and communication are conducted on the course Web site, the video programs are cablecast on HCC-TV (cable channel 96) and/or video-streamed from the HCC Library homepage. Missed a telecourse/TeleWeb video?

The Telecourse Request Form is a service provided by HCC-TV (Channel 96/41) and Distance Learning. This is your opportunity to have us re-air a missed lesson. Please fill out the form linked below, and someone will contact you with the re-air time.
