Associate of Applied Science Degree

Electronics is the wave of the future.  All aspects of modern society and business are becoming more dependent upon skilled professionals to maintain our electronics infrastructure.  Graduates may choose to work in challenging positions in the fields of computers, telecommunications, training, and more highly specialized studies.  Courses emphasize both theory and practice.

Coursework will reflect the changing needs of industry and inculcate a need for ongoing training.  Students planning to transfer to a four-year technical institution should contact that institution to check the list of transferable courses.  This curriculum prepares students to sit for the A+ certification exam and the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam.  A certificate of proficiency is available for students seeking entry into related fields or wishing to improve their present positions.

Certificate of Proficiency
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/Professional (CCNP)

The CCNA certification indicates a foundation in an apprentice-level knowledge of networking for the small/home office (SOHO) market.  CCNA-certified professionals are able to install, configure, and operate LAN/WAN and dial-access services for small networks.

Courses such as ELEC-105, ELEC-140, CSCO-270. CSCO-271, and CSCO-272 prepare students for the CCNA certification exam.  The CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks.   With a CCNP, a network professional will be able to install, configure, and operate LAN/WAN and dial-access services for organizations with larger networks.

Courses such as CSCO-650, CSCO-660, CSCO-670, and CSCO-680 prepare students for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification exams.
