I grew up in Maryland and attended Salisbury University.  So I decided it was time to come back to the state that really knows how to cook seafood and has the best beach in the continental US in Ocean City.  I have been teaching mathematics since 1995.  When I am not teaching mathematics, I enjoy going to amusement parks and riding roller coasters.  ( I have ridden over 200 coasters) The geographic location of Howard CC is great for this since the mid-Atlantic region has a concentration of great coasters and it's close to BWI for getting to other parks. Ask me about a coaster in the US and I've probably ridden it.  I am a classically trained percussionist and enjoy playing from time to time.  I also enjoy eating out, exploring cities, railfanning, and going to see musicals (and yes I am a Gleek!).

My professional areas of interest are:  special sequences of numbers, the mathematics of puzzles and games, students understanding of mathematical functions, mathematics teachers content knowledge, and of course the mathematics of roller coasters.
