Associate Professor, Mathematics
Office: HR 364
Education: BS, Physics, MSSS Master’s of Teaching Secondary School Science, MA and PhD Mathematics. Attended Canisius College, New York, Villanova University, and Temple University, Pennsylvania.
Teaching Experience: 15 years in Secondary schools, 3 years Penn State, Abington campus. I have been full time at HCC since 2005.
Welcome to my webpage. I am excited to be here at HCC; it is a great place to work and learn. I teach many levels of mathematics and encourage students at each level to work with a “study buddy”. This allows the students to go over material covered in class and to explain the material at the student level hence building confidence in one’s own knowledge of the material. You are also encouraged to come to the Math Lab or the Learning Assistance Center for tutoring and to come to my office hours.
Interests: Spreading the understanding and demonstrating the concepts (and beauty) of math to students is my main goal. Further, designs using math principles, like tessellations and transformations of a square into other figures: triangle, hexagon or stars is one of my interests outside the usual textbook topics.
I look forward to working with you.
