I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Colgate University and a master's degree in Mathematics Education from Millersville University. I am currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Mathematics Education from Morgan State University.
My interests include chess, game theory, and the importance of journal writing in mathematics classrooms. Through the use of journal writing, teachers can learn information that they may never know about students without asking the students directly. For example, how a student studies may be more important to a teacher than how long a student studies. I am a nationally rated chess player as well as the chess advisor at HCC. My research interest will be to implement chess into the school curriculum. I have also created a card game (Two-player Spades) which is a variation of the original "spades" game.
