Critical Languages

The Critical Language Program is a learner-directed method of mastering some of the less commonly taught languages. HCC provides 30 hours of tutoring, which is a required component of the classes. In addition to working with their master tutors, students will use books, tapes, and CD-ROM language technology to master the language.

Class size: From three to ten students.

Class schedule: Tutoring sessions established (after first full week of classes) according to mutually convenient dates/times.

Final grade: Based upon attendance and final exam grade.

Chinese 101 will be taught in the traditional credit method and not as a self-directed class.
