Dr. Walton started at HCC as a part-time counselor, and, having completed her doctoral studies, returned to the college as the coordinator of cooperative education, job placement and prior learning. Since 1991, she has been a full-time faculty member in the English division. In 1994, Dr. Walton joined the Peace Corps, and spent two years teaching English teachers English in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Her main intellectual interest is the process of creating knowledge. Her personal motto is: “Learning is change, and the less involved we are, the less change is possible,” by Edward Cell, a philosopher.
