Brooke has been teaching at Howard Community College since January 2010, and joined the college as a full-time instructor of English in 2011.

A Howard County native, Brooke earned her Associate teaching degree from Howard Community College, her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and her Master’s degree in English from the University of Maryland at College Park.

In addition to teaching, Brooke is a Step UP coach, co-chair of the Developmental Education team and the College Success Initiative, a mentor in the internship program, a volunteer with the college readiness initiative, and faculty advisor to three student clubs: the Pre-Pharmacy Club, the Video Game Club, and the US Green Building Council Club. Brooke is a faculty member to the Facilities and Sustainability Team (FAST), and Brooke served on Howard Community College's Commission on the Future as a Sustainability task force representative.  For the past year, Brooke has worked to develop materials for a science-oriented FYEX 100 course designed to help prepare students for success in biology and other allied health courses. In addition to this project, Brooke designs her courses and teaches with the first year experience in mind.

Brooke’s College Composition courses are all Green Dragon Certified to be environmentally friendly, and Brooke strives to promote sustainability on campus. Outside of teaching, Brooke enjoys writing and photography, walking her dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
