Robin has been a full-time faculty member since 2002 and is currently an Associate Professor of Spanish. Prior to coming to HCC and Howard County, Robin lived in Florida and Colorado. She also has lived in Mexico, Spain, and Germany. Mexico and Spain are her primary interest in the Spanish-speaking world, but she interacted with people from over ten Latin American countries while working in international marketing in Florida. She has also spent time studying and volunteering in the Dominican Republic and Argentina. In her classes, Robin enjoys using technology and a variety of methods, activities, explanations, and experiences to facilitate a low-anxiety language class. She has a particular interest in connecting students to real-world experience and populations through Service Learning and other projects. Robin also incorporates ideas from First Year Experience philosophy into her classes. She has been a member of Faculty Learning Communities, the Service Learning Advisory Board, and she works closely with the Lab instructors in the World Languages area.
