Ralph Evans Master Class

Presented by HCC Music Department in conjunction with the Candlelight Concerts Society, this is an incredible opportunity to watch and learn as HCC’s most talented music students present works for expert coaching from one of the world’s greatest musicians.

An Evening of Sonatas

Guest artists Tao Chang Yu, Violin joins HCC piano faculty Kuei-I Wu, in presenting Sonatas for the Piano and Violin by Mozart, Debussy and Strauss.

HCC Jazz Faculty Ensemble
Sunday, March 14, 4:00pm
The jazz faculty members of HCC’s Music Department come together for this festive concert.  Both original compositions and standard arrangements will be presented.

The Kyle Coughlin Show: Rhythm
Monday, March 22, 7:30pm
The second in a series of audience interactive-educational concerts by HCC clarinet and saxophone faculty Kyle Coughlin.  Kyle will focus on the element of rhythm in music and invites everyone to bring a home-made percussion instrument with them to the concert.  The concert will also feature the Kyle Coughlin Quartet.

Sunday, March 28, 4:00pm
HCC voice faculty Judith Cavendish collaborates with piano faculty William Scanlan Murphy in this concert.  Program features Brahms’s lieder, selections from Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été, and the soprano solo from Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, text from Des Knaben Wunderhorn.  The concert also features a guest appearance of HCC Arts & Humanities assistant professor, Barbara Brickman, who will present a reading of the translation of the text, and William Scanlan Murphy will introduce each selection with a short commentary.
