Nancy Santos Gainer was appointed the executive director of public relations and marketing in August of 2008 following a national search, and oversees the Public Relations and Marketing Department of the college. As executive director, she also acts as the college’s government liaison contact.

Prior to her arrival at HCC, Nancy was the director of external relations at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), which administers the Fulbright Scholar Program on behalf of the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in Washington, DC. For over five years, Nancy led marketing, recruitment, public relations, and higher education liaison efforts for the Fulbright Scholar Program.

Prior to her arrival at CIES, Nancy spent 17 years as a higher education administrator planning and directing strategic public relations, promotional and marketing efforts for an array of colleges, with a specialty in higher education media relations. Nancy was the executive director of external relations at Cabrini College in Radnor, PA. Prior to her position at Cabrini College, she was the director of public information at Simmons College in Boston, MA for the undergraduate women’s college and its four graduate schools. Nancy joined Simmons after having served as the media relations contact and advertising manager at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA.

Nancy holds a Master of Arts Degree in Business and Organizational Communications from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Cum Laude, from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.
