Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing
Elizabeth Homan has served as the executive director of public relations and marketing since 2014. In her role, Ms. Homan leads Howard Community College’s efforts in strategic communications and marketing, and strengthens government relations outreach. She also co-chairs the enrollment management committee.
Prior to joining Howard Community College, Ms. Homan had served in a number of progressively responsible communications management positions, from media relations director to director of communications. Her experience ranges from branding and social media to editorial services, integrated strategic communications, and crisis communications management. In addition, she previously worked as a television reporter in Boise, Idaho, and as a reporter/anchor at cable stations in Maryland.
Ms. Homan holds a master’s degree in public relations from Georgetown University, a bachelor of science in mass communication from Towson University, and a bachelor of arts in English from Transylvania University.
Homan has a strong connection to the Howard County community. A graduate of Centennial High School, she is a former Howard Community College student, and worked as a reporter on HCC-TV’s award-winning “CineMaryland” television show.
