Mr. Davis’s story is punctuated with drama and music. An accomplished blues and R&B musician, he performs regularly with his own Daryl Davis Band. Dance, eat and celebrate while learning about the meaning of Jewish wedding traditions. | March 5 Synonym # 1946 | V- Day (Until The Violence Stops) Time: Noon and 7pm Location: TBA We have partnered with the Domestic Violence Center and the STTAR Center to show Until the Violence Stops. Until The Violence Stops features playwright and activist Eve Ensler in a powerful film that documents how The Vagina Monologues grew into the international grassroots movement, V-Day, to stop violence against women and girls. In 2002, eight hundred cities around the world participated in V-Day by staging benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues. Until the Violence Stops shows women from Harlem, New York to Ukiah, California; from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to the Philippines and Kenya, uniting and courageously revealing their intimate and deeply painful experiences with abuse ranging from rape to female circumcision. We will show the film Wednesday, March 5 at noon and 7 p.m. Admission is free to faculty, staff and students.
