 | Culture Café 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. HVPA lobby: The world is growing smaller every day! Here at HCC, we are lucky enough to host students from hundreds of different countries. We also have some very well-traveled students, faculty and staff. At this coffee hour, the campus community will have the opportunity to chat with them and see the United States—and the world—from a new perspective. The guests of honor will be chosen from English Language Institute students, credit international students, HCC study abroad participants, faculty and staff who have spent a sabbatical abroad, or those who grew up outside of the U.S. Everyone is welcome to come and hear about their exciting, fun, stressful, educational experiences. The featured invitees will be asked to focus on the process of cultural adaptation: what difficulties did they encounter, what similarities comforted them, what strategies did they use to become acclimated, and what insights did they gain about U.S. culture and their native cultures. Coffee and cookies will be provided. Diversity Index Number: 5921
