Dennis Miller was appointed to the Howard Community College Board of Trustees in March 2011. He is the senior vice president of real estate development for East Baltimore Development, Inc. (EBDI) and is responsible for the oversight of all real estate development activities. Prior to joining EBDI, Mr. Miller was owner and managing partner of Miller Development, LCC, a real estate development company focused on developing and re-developing mixed-use multifamily structures in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area.
Mr. Miller previously held the position of vice president and general manager of Columbia, Maryland and The Maryland Master Planned Communities for The Rouse Company and General Growth Properties. He was responsible for the infill development in Columbia and the development of three new communities in Maryland.
Mr. Miller is active in the community, having served on the board of directors for the Howard County Economic Development Authority, First Tee Howard County, the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Horizon Foundation, the Columbia Festival of the Arts, and the Howard Community College Educational Foundation. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Lincoln University and a master of business administration in corporate finance and investment from George Washington University. He also pursued graduate studies in public finance at American University and executive studies in urban mix-used development at Harvard University.
