Kevin Doyle was appointed to the Howard Community College Board of Trustees in 2007 for a six-year term and has been reappointed for a second term through 2019. He has served as the board’s chair, vice chair, and chair of both the board’s legislative and community relations committee and audit and finance committee. Mr. Doyle is currently the board’s liaison to the Howard Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. and a member of the college’s facilities master plan steering committee.
An employee of the federal government for more than 38 years, Kevin retired from federal service in December 2012. While employed for Social Security he made extensive contributions in the fields of budget, property management, and program policy. He served as president of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Child Care Centers and testified before Congress on the need for quality child care.
Kevin has been extensively involved in Howard County for many years. He is a past president of the Greater Elkridge Community Association and past co-chair of the Route One Revitalization Task Force, which produced a highly recognized zoning, marketing, and business plan for development along the Route One corridor in Howard County. He served on the workgroup that produced the General Plan for Howard County in 2000 and was elected to the Howard County Democratic Central Committee on which he served from 2002 to 2006. Kevin also served on the Howard County Library Board and the Howard County Appeals Board.
Mr. Doyle graduated from Loyola College in 1974. He lives in Elkridge with his wife, Bonnie. Kevin and Bonnie have two sons, Colin and Connor.
