The Howard Community College Board of Trustees approves the awarding of honorary degrees at Howard Community College.  Honorary degrees will typically be bestowed at the college’s May commencement exercises.

Honorary degrees will be bestowed on deserving individuals for one or more of the following reasons:

• to recognize an exceptional scholarly, intellectual or artistic achievement;
• to recognize extraordinary service to the institution; and/or
• to recognize outstanding contributions to the community.
