A.       Definition

One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is defined as “ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.”

B.       Records

Records of all CEUs are maintained by Howard Community College and are available to students for use in educational planning, documentation of continuing qualifications, preparation for new careers, and demonstration of a conscious and persistent effort toward personal enrichment and development.

CEU records also provide documentation for future employers, licensing organizations, professional societies, and supervisors.
