With the advent and surge of participation in non-credit and non-traditional program offerings, there is a need for a system of recognizing, identifying, measuring, and rewarding students’ efforts in these activities.  Howard Community College adopted the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) as the uniform unit of measurement to facilitate the accumulation and exchange of standardized information about individual participation in non-traditional programming.
