At Howard Community College, faculty will take a broad and integrated approach toward achieving instructional excellence to promote student success through the implementation of best practices.  Activities that promote instructional excellence include, but are not limited to, learning outcomes assessment; program evaluation; classroom research; peer review; teaching improvement projects; student surveys; adjunct faculty development; revisions of existing courses and programs; new course and program development; faculty development projects; graduate study; performances and exhibitions; publishing, writing articles or books; practical work in technical fields; faculty exchanges and other collaborations with the continuing education division; development of learning communities; attendance and presentations at workshops and conferences; research and development of new learning products; internships or clinical practice; integration of technology to improve learning; faculty professional learning communities; and development of flexible learning formats and delivery modes.
