Howard Community College is committed to offering educational services to meet the diverse needs of the community.  These services include occupational Associate in Applied Science degree and certificate programs, transfer Associate in Arts and Associate of Arts in Teaching degree programs, and continuing education programs including workforce training.  Underlying these programs is a commitment to general education including creating a dynamic and effective learning environment for students. The student will express ideas effectively both orally and in writing; perform mathematical operations at a college level and apply these skills; value and utilize open-mindedness, inquiry, and rational assessment of data and text; display technological competence; demonstrate information literacy; demonstrate global awareness; and demonstrate a perceptual awareness of and aesthetic sensitivity to the arts.
