Vino Scholastico Wine Tasting Event Set to “Raise a Glass, Raise a Scholarship” for HCC Students on April 25

April 3, 2014

(Columbia, MD) - Vino Scholastico, a distinctive wine tasting event that raises funds for Howard Community College (HCC) student scholarships, returns Friday, April 25, 2014, on the HCC campus.

Presented by MICROS Systems, Inc., the 2014 Vino Scholastico features a pre-event presentation with wines from the Milhade family, owners of Bordeaux wine estates in France. Pre-event attendees will enjoy a tasting of various Chateau bottlings while exploring the traditional and innovative techniques that help create authentic and premium Bordeaux wines. The pre-event presentation runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the college’s new Health Sciences Building.

The main event, held from 7 to 10 p.m. in The Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall (RCF), offers tastings of numerous distinctive wines and beers, live entertainment, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, desserts, raffle prizes, and discount prices for on-site wine orders. The event seeks to meet a growing need for financial aid for HCC students by “raising a glass, raising a scholarship.”

Tickets are $75 for the V.I.P. pre-event, $75 for the main tasting event, and $125 for both events. Tickets are also available for designated drivers at $50. For tickets and additional information, visit www.howardcc.edu/vino or call 443-518-1970. All proceeds benefit student scholarships through the HCC Educational Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
