General New Student Orientation Sessions Scheduled for August 19 and 21
(Columbia, MD) — Howard Community College (HCC) has added four major-specific mini sessions to its 2013 New Student Orientation schedule. These major-specific sessions are scheduled for July 16 and 17 in room 400 of The Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall, with morning and afternoon sessions on both days. Each session will allow students to talk with faculty from their academic division, meet new and experienced students, learn about valuable campus resources, and more.
First-time HCC students are encouraged and expected to attend, while parents are welcome to attend a special parent session during their student’s orientation.
Health Science students are invited to attend the orientation from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 16.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Business and Computer System students are invited to attend the orientation from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
Arts and Humanities, English and World Languages, Social Science and Teacher Education students are invited to attend the orientation from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 17.
General Studies, Liberal Arts, and Undecided students are invited to attend the orientation from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
Students unable to attend the July session for their major are welcome to attend one of two general sessions in August. An evening orientation session is scheduled for Monday, August 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., and a daytime orientation session is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Both sessions will take place in the Smith Theatre of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA).
Students are highly encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their orientation session.
