HCC’s New Student Orientation Sessions Scheduled for August 20 and 22

(Columbia, MD) – New Student Orientation sessions for Howard Community College (HCC) are scheduled for August 20 and 22, 2012. An evening orientation session is scheduled for Monday, August 20, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and a daytime orientation session is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. First time students to HCC are encouraged and expected to attend. Parents are also invited to attend a special parent program during both orientation sessions.

Both sessions feature refreshments, information packets, and planned activities, including interactive workshops, campus tours, and prizes. At the evening session, appetizers will be offered starting at 5:15 p.m., and dessert will follow the session. A continental breakfast will be served at the daytime session starting at 8:15 a.m., and the college will provide lunch. In addition, the daytime session will offer an extended, interactive campus tour, providing the chance to make friends and win prizes. Students should plan to arrive early at both sessions to get their college IDs and set up their online accounts.

Registration is now open. Interested students should register at www.howardcc.edu/nso to reserve a space at one of these sessions. Students can also sign up by calling 443-518-4430. It is only necessary to register once.

Both sessions will begin promptly in the Smith Theatre at Howard Community College. If you need additional information, please call the Office of Student Life at 443-518-1420.
