Howard Community College Announces Helen Buss Mitchell as Inspiring Faculty Member for 2011-12

Columbia, MD) – From a group of seven full-time Howard Community College (HCC) educators recognized by peers as outstanding faculty members in their respective divisions, Helen Buss Mitchell, professor of philosophy and director of Women's Studies, has been named Overall Inspiring Faculty Member for 2011-2012. Starting her career at HCC in 1974, Dr. Mitchell’s outstanding accomplishments have been evidenced year after year in her service to her students, the college, and her community. As part of this award, Mitchell will lead the faculty procession at HCC’s commencement, address the student honorees at the Dean’s List receptions, and attend a major conference or other professional development activity.
