
Columbia, Maryland - Howard Community College’s (HCC) on-campus radio station, The Dragon, announces the addition of “Dragon Sports Radio,” a program that covers all things athletics at HCC. The program’s premiere episode debuted Friday, October 5, 2012, and featured hall of fame softball player and longtime HCC athletic director Diane Schumacher, who reflects on her athletic career and favorite HCC sports memories. A truly collaborative effort between students and faculty, “Dragon Sports Radio” is largely produced by students and co-hosted Matt Stovall and Louis Garcia, the producers of the award-winning “The Dragon’s Lair Update” television show. Each episode of “Dragon Sports Radio” will feature two interviews and one roundtable segment, where Stovall and Garcia share highlights, discuss current events in sports, and more. “Dragon Sports Radio” airs Tuesdays from 12 to 1 p.m., Fridays from 8 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 5 to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 6 to 7 p.m. For more information on how to listen to The Dragon or “Dragon Sports Radio,” visit www.howardcc.edu/hccradio.
