(Columbia, MD) – The Howard Community College (HCC) Music Department invites the public to experience the intimate, acoustically-engineered John G. Monteabaro Recital Hall and newly renovated Smith Theatre in the Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) with several performances in September 2010.

Jazz on the Quad

Jazz on the Quad is back!  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear HCC jazz faculty in this outdoor and free performance.  Performance will take place on the quad patio in front of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts building. 

An Afternoon of Music with Dave and His Friends
Sunday, September 12 at 4 p.m.
Smith Theatre

This concert features HCC music faculty members and guest performers in an eclectic mixture of music from the classical, jazz and pop genres. Admission is free of charge. Donations for The Rybczynski Fund are welcome.

Columbia Clarinet Quintet
Saturday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Monteabaro Recital Hall

This concert features HCC music faculty Ae-Young Sun, Yoon Nah Cho and Kuei-I Wu in beautiful Clarinet Quintets by Mozart and Brahms.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, and $5 for HCC students, staff and faculty.

“A World-Wind Tour” with the Patagonia Winds

Join HCC flute faculty Melissa Lindon in this “world-wind tour” with the Patagonia Winds, featuring virtuoso wind quintet works by composers from Italy, France, England and Brazil.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, and $5 for HCC students, staff and faculty.
