HCC Hosts Third Annual Community Market Festival October 6Released September 18, 2009
On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Howard Community College (HCC) will host its third Community Market Festival on the HCC Quad to promote the environmental and economic benefits of purchasing from local vendors. This event is designed introduce students and the community to the concept of purchasing locally, so they can become lifelong supporters of the local economy. Educational materials about the benefits of buying locally will also be available.
The Community Market Festival will feature local and independent merchants selling items such as food, crafts, and pet supplies. Vendors will include familiar local businesses such as Nest and Bark of the Conscious Corner in Clarksville, and Zeke’s Coffee in Baltimore. Independent crafters will also be on hand, selling items such as jewelry and handmade soaps.
