HCC Offers Free Classes on Job Market and Resume WritingApril 24, 2009
(Columbia, MD) – During the first week of May, Howard Community College (HCC) will offer two free career information classes.
The first, “Encore Careers,” convening Friday, May 1, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., presents information on the current job market and how county residents can use free resources at the college to prepare for a job search. Included in the discussion will be the free resources at the college available to county residents, including online career assessments, job fairs, resume writing assistance, and job search workshops.
The second class, “Resume Refresher,” running Friday, May 8, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., provides tips on preparing resumes for today’s job market. Participants will learn how to highlight skills and experience to a potential employer, prepare resumes for online submission, and use software templates for formatting resumes.
Both classes will be held at the college’s Gateway Campus at 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive and are free and open to the public. However, due to limited seating, registration is required.
