What: Workshop on Autism Spectrum Disorder Presented by HCC’s Project Access program
When: 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 Where: Room 401, Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall Howard Community College, Columbia, Maryland Description: Participants will have the opportunity to learn about autism spectrum disorder, including its background and subtypes, current research, and any associated psychiatric and neurological conditions. Speakers include Audrey Thurm, Ph.D., staff scientist and clinical psychologist, Pediatrics and Developmental Neuroscience, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and currently one of the principal investigators of “Clinical and Immunological Investigation of Subtypes of Autism”; and Elaine Tierney, M.D., Director of the Autism Metabolic Research Program, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Director of the Department of Psychiatry, Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Associate Professor, Psychiatry, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Additional Info: Tickets are $35 if purchased before November 24, 2009 and $40 at the door. CEU’s will be available. Funds raised will be put toward Project Access operating expenses. |
