(Columbia, MD) -- Howard Community College (HCC) will host a teacher education fair on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Burill Galleria on the campus of HCC. For the first time, guests will attend workshops in addition to speaking with representatives from four-year institutions and HCC. High school students, current college students, child care providers, parents, educators and those interested in a career change will benefit from the fair.

During the first workshop, between 2:10 and 2:40 p.m., information about hiring needs and practices of the Howard County Public Schools System will be offered.  In the next workshop, from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m., options for funding a degree in teaching or child care will be presented. In the final workshop, held from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m., presenters will explain the benefits of starting the process at HCC.
