Alumni will have opportunity to meet new President Kate Hetherington

(Columbia, MD) – Howard Community College (HCC) invites alumni and their friends and family to attend an alumni social on April 3, 2008, from 6 – 8 p.m. on the fourth floor of The Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall (RCF).  The social, which is free to attend, features food, drinks, live music and spectacular views of the Columbia skyline.  Attendees will have the opportunity to meet HCC’s new President Dr. Kate Hetherington, HCC Educational Foundation Chair Michael Nagle, and HCC Board of Trustees members.  For more information or to RSVP for the event, contact Cynthia Sikorski at 410-772-4450 or csikorski@howardcc.edu.

Dr. Hetherington officially assumed the position of president on June 1, 2007, succeeding retired President Mary Ellen Duncan.  Dr. Hetherington joined HCC in 1999 as vice president of student services, and most recently served as the college’s executive vice president as well as capital campaign manager.  Prior to HCC, she held various positions at the Community College of Philadelphia and was an adjunct faculty member at the Delaware County Community College.
