(Columbia, MD) – Author and Howard County native Christopher Bracey visits Howard Community College (HCC) on February 1, 2008 for two free lectures on the emerging trend of conservatism in the African American community. The 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. lectures will be held in the Burrill Galleria of the Science and Technology Building on the campus of HCC. Bracey, a professor of law and African American Studies at Washington University and a graduate of Harvard Law School, is the author of “Saviors or Sellouts: The Promise and Peril of Black Conservatism, from Booker T. Washington to Condoleezza Rice.” In “Saviors or Sellouts,” Bracey explores the evolution of black conservatism and its effects on African American culture. Both lectures are open to the public and free to attend. A book signing follows each lecture.
