HCC Hosts Information Sessions on November 1 for the Community to Explore EntrepreneurshipOctober 11, 2006
Learn to think and act like an entrepreneur
(Columbia, MD) – Howard Community College (HCC) is hosting both afternoon and evening free information sessions on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 to explore the many business, career, and learning opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship. Both the 1-3 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. sessions are in the Burrill Galleria on the HCC campus located at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia Maryland 21044.
In addition to offering an innovative Entrepreneurship Studies program, HCC's Business & Computer Systems Division is the home of the Center for Entrepreneurial & Business Excellence (CEBE), and is a lead institutional partner in the Technology Assessment Program (TAP) funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant*. Through TAP a unique new course has been launched at HCC: Technology Transfer from Invention to Marketplace.
Attendees can meet with HCC faculty, students, and business and government partners involved in these dynamic initiatives to cultivate entrepreneurial attitudes, skills, and behaviors in our local organizations and community. Currently scheduled speakers include representatives from the Howard County Economic Development Authority, the Technology Transfer Unit of the JHU Applied Physics Lab, and Syntonics Corporation, a company founded as an APL tech transfer spin-off.
