Hear tales from the NFL over lunch, and help raise student scholarships
(Columbia, MD) – National Football League (NFL) referee Terry McAulay describes his gridiron experiences at a Wednesday, August 9, 2006 luncheon that helps to raise needed scholarship funds for Howard Community College (HCC) students.
The luncheon, co-sponsored by the Columbia Town Center Rotary, runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Kittleman Room of the English, Languages & Business Building (ELB-100) on the HCC campus. Cost is $75, including lunch. Interested persons should call 410-772-4147 by August 7 for reservations.
When Terry McAulay is not working as a global network analyst for his current employer, the U.S. Department of Defense, he is likely to be blowing the whistle on another kind of defense. McAulay has been a referee in the NFL for five years, and a side judge in the league for the three years prior. Highlights include working the 2006 American Football Conference (AFC) championship game between Pittsburgh and Denver, and the 2005 Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida between New England and Philadelphia. Prior to the NFL, McAulay was a college football referee in the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in Virginia. He officiated high school football for over 10 years in the Washington, DC metro area including Howard County. McAulay and his wife live in Glenwood, Maryland with their three children.
