HCC’s Mid-year Nursing Program

Working in Holy Cross Hospital's emergency room, Mala Sudama was close to her career dream - but not close enough.  "My job is now administrative," Mala said.  "But I really like the hands-on patient care. So I want to become a nurse."  To reach that goal, Mala enrolled in HCC’s mid-year program to study nursing.  In this program, a class of students can start in January in addition to the traditional fall class. With this program and a new accelerated program, the college has doubled the capacity of its nursing education.  After HCC, Mala plans to pursue a bachelor's and even a master's degree in nursing.  Eventually, Mala sees herself teaching nursing.
