'ARTS COLLECTIVE PRODUCTION STAFF BIOS:
Susan G. Kramer

SUSAN G. KRAMER (Producing Artistic Director) a Howard Community College Alumnus, is proud to work with an entity that continues to transcend; THE ARTS COLLECTIVE, (formerly Student-Alumni Arts @HCC).  Since its inception in 1994, Kramer has been AC’s Producer, Artistic Director, Resident Director, Production/ Marketing/ Company Manager, and Webmaster.  Recent Arts Collective projects include spearheading (with Alexandra Billings and Eric Hunicutt) a partnership between AC and Steppenwolf West which resulted in a summer two week workshop and culminating performances... as well as AC's first-ever subscription series!  Recent AC projects directed include WHAT IMPROV GROUP (W.I.G.), ANGELS IN AMERICA, A CHORUS LINE (with Jenny Male), DRACULA and A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM,  Susan has also directed original works developed by AC’s Actors' Studio Works In Progress; THE CHILD BEHIND THE CURTAIN, LETTERS TO S.A.N.T.A., BEYOND DICK AND JANE, CHEESY SILLY TALES, and THE HUM.  As Producer, additional AC projects include a Dance Company Productions, Musical Theatre Revues, Showcases and more. Recent on-stage work includes AC’s production of NOISES OFF, as Mrs. Clackett, and in AC’s 2001 production of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES.  For the past decade Susan has also taught Basic Acting I at HCC and has mentored many Theatre Practicum and Independant Study students.  Susan' roots: Baltimore Community Theater.  First production directed: HARVEY; Halethorpe, Maryland's Ascension Church Youth Group; Kramer was 17.  What drives her: artistic truth and collaboration, folks who call Arts Collective "Home"... and her daughter, Emma.

Grace Anastasiadis

GRACE ANASTASIADIS (Associate Artistic and Managing Director) has been working at HCC in various areas of the theatre and the instructional side for about nine years. Grace also teaches acting as an adjunct here at HCC. She graduated with an AA in Theatre Performance from HCC and then went on to receive her BA from the University of Maryland in Theatre Performance. Some of her favorite acting roles include Hero in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, the Duenna in CYRANO De BERGERAC Jenny in COMPANY.  Recent AC projects include props desig for A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, and ensemble member in 2010's Dance Company production, HOLDING CHANGE.

Matt Winer

MATT WINER (Production and Outreach Specialist) has been working closely with HCC's Arts Collective since July, 2010, and couldn't be more thrilled to go to work every day!  He attended HCC and James Madison University before landing at his new home with AC.  Not only is Matt heavily and directly involved with AC's marketing (he is the voice/writer/manager of AC's BLOG! among many other projects) his work has also been seen on stage in several AC productions and projects such as WHAT IMPROV GROUP (W.I.G.), CHILD BEHIND THE CURTAIN and ANGELS IN AMERICA.  Matt looks forward to his new role as Assistant Director for this spring's production of PETER PAN.

Ashanti CooperASHANTI COOPER (Props and Wardrobe Assistant Manager and Office Associate) has worked closely with AC for the past several years.  An HCC graduate, Ashanti has worked on and off the stage as designer and performer.  Recent performances include ANGELS IN AMERICA, WHAT IMPROV GROUP (W.I.G.) and THE CRUCIBLE. Ashanti designed props for AC's musical theatre production, ON BROADWAY. 
Erin Drum

ERIN DRUM (Resident Photographer and Stage Manager) an HCC Rouse Scholar and graduate with her Associates Degree in Studio Art.  She has worked with Arts Collective in a number of different capacities including Production Assistant, Scenic Painter, Props Designer, Sound Designer and Stage Manager.  She is currently the Resident Photographer and Resident Stage Manager for Arts Collective.  Past shows Stage Managed include A CHORUS LINE, tempODYSSEY, ANGELS IN AMERICA, ON BROADWAY and 1001.

AC's Resident Artists:

JENNY MALE (Dialect/Movement Coach) is also the Coordinator of HCC’s  Musical Theatre Department. Teaching credits at HCC include Basic Acting I, Voice & Diction, Dialects for the Actor and Movement for the Actor. Jenny directed and choreographed LOVE HURTS (AC’s Stage Combat & Movement Show), OURSPACE (AC’s first Dance Company production), and our production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.  Jenny choreographed AC's production of YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN , A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and A CHORUS LINE.  Recent projects as violence and dialect coach for AC productions include A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, THE FOREIGNER, THE CRUCIBLE and DRACULA.  In 2002, she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy with an emphasis in Movement & Choreography.  Jenny is also very proud to serve as the Fight Director and Dance Choreographer for the historical outdoor drama, TECUMSEH, in Ohio.

Renee Brozic Barger

RENEE BROZIC BARGER (Dance Company Director, Choreographer) is HCC’s coordinator of Dance, and has been performing, teaching and making dances in the Baltimore/DC Metro Area for over fifteen years. She is a founding director of movement/addiction, a dance-based multi-media performance company. She holds her BA in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and her MFA in Dance from George Mason University. Most recently, she has taught, choreographed and performed internationally in the US, Canada, India and the UK. She has been called “aristocratic and elegant” by the Oxford Times, and “brilliantly angular” and “fragile and powerful” by the Oxfringe Review. Recent collaborations of an improvisational nature have been with the Basso Moderno Duo and Timothy Nohe. In addition to performance-related projects, Renée has been increasingly focusing on arts advocacy work within Maryland as a member of Maryland Citizens of the Arts Emerging Arts Advocates, a group that endeavors to educate the next generation of Maryland arts advocates, and to provide advocacy training, professional development, and leadership opportunities to young advocates in the arts area.
