CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO! | | | ABOUT HCC'S THEATRE PROGRAM | The mission of the Howard Community College Theatre program is to help students discover their creative potential through the interpretational arts of acting, singing, dance, writing, and technical theater, exposing students to the wide range of skills and practices necessary for live theater including technical theater, acting, text analysis, historical research, stage combat, and musical interpretations. We seek to encourage students in critical thinking skills and artistic innovation. The AA degree in theater has three major focuses: performance, musical theater, and technical theater. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO! | | | ABOUT HCC'S MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM | Love musicals? Want to be in them? Hope to build a career performing in them? Become a Musical Theatre major at Howard Community College! We offer classes in Musicianship for the Musical Theatre Major and several semesters of voice lessons. HCC also offers Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Musical Theatre Dance classes as well as Acting, Movement, and Diction; all are taught by award-winning directors and choreographers. You may also complete a musical theatre performance internship with the Red Branch Theatre Company, which produces four to six musicals each year.
We will also help you choose the four-year school that will be the perfect fit for you to finish your education. Don't miss out on this terrific opportunity to attend the only community college in Maryland that has a Musical Theatre degree.

HCC'S Dance Department is a unique program that provides a solid technical foundation for dance majors as well as access to many styles of dance for non-majors. As a dance major, you will receive studio training by award-winning dance faculty. If you are a not a dance major but would like to become a better dancer, you can pursue your dance interests in a wide variety of classes, such as Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Ballroom and Latin Dance, Hip-Hop, and Dance Improvisation. We will provide you with all the tools you will need to become the dancer you want to be while keeping an eye on the program to which you hope to transfer.
In addition to Dance Department concerts, there are a myriad of hands-on opportunities for both dance majors and non-majors at HCC, including free workshops, programs, auditions and The Student Arts Collective Dance Company. This year the Arts Collective Dance Company presents its 5th season! Audiences may remember previously celebrated dance performances such as "Holding Change", "Voodoo Child" and "Sunshine in Blue." Please join us for this year's Dance Company performance in the same outstanding tradition!
