(Columbia, MD) – Howard Community College’s (HCC) Arts Collective (AC) proudly presents Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” adapted by Doris Baizley from December 6 to 16, in HCC's Smith Theatre. Jenny Male, coordinator of musical theatre at HCC, directs and choreographs this family-friendly, magical, holiday classic a second time for AC (the first production, mounted in 2004, was met by sold-out houses – and exactly why AC is beyond proud to re-mount it during its 18th Season)! class="contentsmall"Baizley's fantastical and whimsical adaptation of A Christmas Carol places a unique theatrical spin on Dickens' timeless classic by telling the story through the eyes of an acting troupe full of clowns, lovers, masked revelers, and acrobats. | Jenny Male is thrilled to be back for her 21st production with Arts Collective! Favorite AC directing and/or choreography credits include Urinetown, Love Hurts, On Broadway, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Noises Off, A Chorus Line and the 2004 AC production of A Christmas Carol. Jenny has also directed numerous musicals for the Red Branch Theatre Company, such as Avenue Q, The Secret Garden, Urinetown, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and last spring’s Into the Woods which won Best Revival of a Musical on BroadwayWorld.com: Baltimore. She is the Resident Fight Director for Rep Stage and has choreographed violence for Yellowman, Or, The Tempermentals, T-Bone N Weasel, The Goat, Hysteria, and Lie of the Mind. Jenny is Asst. Professor of Theatre at HCC and coordinates the musical theatre program. She is also a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors. Jenny is looking forward to directing {title of show} next spring for the Red Branch Theatre Company and Legally Blonde this winter for the Carver Center for the Performing Arts in Baltimore. |
